WTB Reel for my 8wt 11' helios 2 switch

Since this rod is very light and I expect to do some saltwater fishing for striped bass with it, I am not really interested in a click and pawl. I'm a newbie so I don't exactly know what I'm talking about and you could still convince me to get one I guess! Main application remains atlantic salmon after all.

Otherwise what I am looking for is more along the lines of a Lamson Litespeed, Speedster, etc. (the number 4 models which are rated for 10-11 wt lines). ARX looks nice as well with the full cage design (3.5 seems to be the right size). Yes you guessed it, I love me some lamson reels, but other quality companies are fine too!

As for budget, I guess depending on your offer is we could go up along the lines of 350, although I am more interested in the 200-250 range.

We can discuss shipping and payment methods in private (I do have a paypal account).

I have a 9 wt H2 and I think a Litespeed would be too light. Balance would be off. I have an Orvis Mirage V on mine and the balance is good.

Thanks for the input Jekyll!

Edit: Actually had a look at both models on the manufacturer's webpage and the Series IV Litespeed 4 (the lightest litespeed edition to date) appears to be a tad heavier at 7.95 oz (Mirage V is 7.7 oz).

I've also got a mirage V on a 7wt H2 switch and the balance is perfect.

Yeah, sorry. I misread the chart.

I use the Polycarbonate Loop Xact 8-11 - which was the old Loop Evotec CLW.

I have caught dozens of keeper bass on it to 31.5" (my PB) and Atlantic Salmon to 13lbs...

Its so light I use it on my Redington CPX Switch 11'3" #7wt as well as my T&T Spey 1309-4.

I have been using them for 5 years with no issues.

cheers

Mark.

I have a Nautilus CCF8 is great shape and an extra spool- both with backing. I have the reel listed for USD$275 and spool USD$100. I would do USD$250 on the reel and 100 on the spool shipped to you.
