Dan Craft Fly Blank. FT#7 10'0"

Hi,
I bought a 4piece, #7 Dan Craft fly rod blank sight unseen that turned out to be 10'0" instead of 9'0".

It is of no use to me for the kind of fishing I do.

The FT line has been discontinued for years but they are still in high demand and I am still looking for a 9'0" model.

I spoke to Dan the other day and he told me the 10'0" model was made specifically for the West Coast fly guys.
It went for about $230-$240- if I remember correctly.
I will sell for $125 shipped to lower 48.

Regards,
Herb

My first ever switch rod is built on the Dan Craft FT 8wt 10'. Nice rod.

Dan Crafts are nice blanks. The FTs were Dan's faster action (tip) rods if memory serves. The 10' vs. 9' have a more thru action though.

Good luck in your sale.

Yeah - Dan mentioned the Switch thing.
You are correct re your description of the 10' model vs the 9' model.

Great guy: Great blanks

I've built 3 or 4 rods on Dan's blanks. One was on his 8'4 Sig V 3/4 wt...well, it's a 4 wt. It's a 3 pc blank, too. Super light, super fantastic. I've never handled a 3 or 4 wt that compares to it. It's the one I still have. You can't have it.

I think I built a 9 ft 7 wt as well. That was the last SH I had for steelhead, before I switched over. Sold it to finance a spey rod purchase.

Built one or two for charity auctions, too.

I've had the great pleasure of fishing with Dan several times, as well.

gmcgilli66,
The SigV is a whole different animal. It makes a very light but stiff rod. Very interesting action.
