The size is 3 7/8-8 1/2 ounces you can do a search here on reel for capacity if not will check and post tomorrow just turning in

St John line capacity.

From a Hardy 1992 catalog: The St John can hold a DT-8F line plus 100 yards of 27# backing. The numbers are towards the conservative.

Its a fine, classic spring & pawl Hardy reel.

Someone is going to have fun with this.
