How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB

Scott Mackenzie Speycasting Masterclass DVD

Hi drbfish,
The Scott Mackenzie Masterclass DVD will be a sponsor on Speypages in a week or two and available throught most stores, and on line through Speypages.
Dana is doing a review at the moment, but i can tell you that everybody that has seen the DVD has really been impressed.
State of the art motion capture graphic's, casting and history from the three times world champion, and creator of Mackenzie style casting with the Scottish Highlands and Canada as a back drop.
It really is a must have DVD, this DVD will help everybody, from novice to expert, if your looking to get into Speycasting or make those big casts, there is nobody in the world that makes it look so easy, with the motion capture there is nothing to stop you casting like a world champion.
There has never been a DVD from a world champion, and nothing like this one.
Gordon.

Thumbs up Good reviews, not only 'here' but there too.

Lots of chat about how good a DVD this one is on the UK based fly boards. Sounds like it's well worth 'dropping the dime.'

Got my copy last week from the 'Shed.
A great DVD and a bit different feel from others around. For one the production quality is on par with a documentary and at the beginning you get the feel of watching one, when you see you'll know why I say this as the history is really quite interesting. Some great music which at times can be dramatic but the scenery it is set to is more than worthy.
But aside form the photography, the meat and potatoes of this video is casting and teaching. The video breaks each cast down much the same as other videos with Mr. Mackenzie's own style and take on each. It is really great to see his long lines go out and the chapter on his style is a great primer for distance casting and made me run out to the local casting hole to give it a go. I really enjoyed this video and learned a lot from it. I am glad to have added this to my library of videos and I think anyone would be as well.

Watch mine last night

Wow, what a caster. At one point he said he casted 70 yds (210 feet). He makes it so effortless. Almost like he stepped into the fog of a different zone.

BTW, in the bonus section, there was a website to his outtakes.

Does anyone have a link to it? I tried searching but none on website. I forgot to write it down as I was watching the Wings and the video at the same time, pausing when there was a goal.

Outtakes don't exist

It appears that the site provided in the DVD doesnot exist anymore.

Anyone else having this problem?

Epic.

I love the opening, with the river, the music, and the kilt! Epic!

Great DVD. It is a very impresive production.

A little something for everyone

Since I'm not into long line casting anymore, I didn't think there would be much of interest to me. Other than the history. And the fact that I had a hard time figuring out how the Ness style worked.

But there are some little nuggets hidden away in there.

Scott Mackenzie Speycasting Masterclass DVD

drbfish sounds like you enjoyed the journey, i know Scott wanted this to be a DVD that everybody could learn from, and was fully aware that some might think of it just as a distance casting DVD , which its not.
Hopefully the DVD will be a sponsor on Speypages soon.

Sushiyummy,
I think the outtakes where removed from the Internet because of the concern that people might not be used to our Scottish style of langauge while fishing ,
Gordon.

he everybody..

yes im looking forward to see it......i m primarily a single handed sircuscaster but i love to see good speycasting...ive had the pleasure of many nice talks with scott...any way good to be back casting again....i had to withdraw for various reasons.....and have been focusing om my music..however i started and it feel great...what a great art form flycasting is..how healthy..it is for body, mind and soul....I will work with harry CLAN on some single handed rods...im very honoured.....its perfect i come form the norvegian old style with masterful casting of long lines, then i got to know the great americans like lefty steve, mel , swisher, . however the last years my interest turned to scotish, british irish?? casting..one reason beeing a bruce and walker 11,3 5-6 weight, that is realy deep and slow..oups got carried a way..sorry...but now ive said hallo....
