Not sure if this book has been mentioned on Spey pages before but I enjoyed it reading it on line and definitely want to get a copy for my library.
"The Spey Cast or Welsh Throw: History in Great Britain, Roots in British Columbia and Popularity in North America" by BC's Art Lingren?
It's the history of Spey casting from the earlyist days right up to recent times. It includes some really fine drawings and photo's including pictures of RHB Spey casting etc. Hugh Fulkus, and of course Speypages 'Dana'
BCFF has it up on their web page in PDF format for all to read
. Thanks BCFF!
I have never met Art Lingren, other than through his books, though he lives not far from me. However, he never ceases to amaze me how much he accomplishes and how well.
He's prolific writer of fly fishing books, magazine articles, clearly an able historian about everthing fly, a fly tyer etc and yet he still seems to get a lot of time in fishing!
The debate, "Do fish sleep' seems to me to be secondary to the question does "Art Lingrin sleep". I would vote with the 'nays'.
Either way there is no doubt he's a real force (or shoud I say 'a reel' force) for the good in the fly fishing fraternity. Hats off to him for sure.
