Spey Line Question

Hi, all I am new to this spey thing and I've spent a fair bit of time trying to figure the spey lines out. Let say you have a airflo scandi compact and airflo skagit compact and a Z Axis 7136.

Looking to go for some steelhead.

For the Scandi setup is it:
Scandi head + Polyleader + Fluorocarbon leader? - What type and length of polyleader and what length of fluorocarbon?

For the compact Skagit:
Skagit head + sinking tip + Fluorocarbon leader? What type and length of sinking tip and what length of fluorocarbon.

Pretty confused.

I'm not in the GL's so you might factor that in but if I was setting up a 7136-4 Z rod to swing for chrome I would start here.

It would be a 480 Scandi Compact with a 14' floating poly leader and 3' of Maxima Ultragreen or fluoro if you need it.

For the skag setup it would be a Skagit Compact 510 with a 10' sinktip of choice (T-10 and T-15 or T-11 and T-14) and 4' to 6' (2'=20# & 2'=10#) Maxima Ultragreen or fluoro if you need it. If the fly is unweighted I'd keep the leader shorter 3' to 4' and if the fly is weighted one can go longer like 5' or 6'.

The Grand River spey clave is happening on Oct 15. Attending that if possible will get you around many people that have a great deal of knowledge about chasing chrome with a spey rod in your area.

How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB
