Leader for 3wt Trout Spey Rod

Using a Sage One 3110 Trout Spey rod, with a OPST 200gr head and a OPST 12ft tip,
what kind and size leader do you use? Do you use a tapered leader like a 1x or 2x
7' long shortened? What works?
Thank you,

On my 11' 4wt I usually run a 225gr Commando smooth to a 10' tapered tip (either OPST floating trout tip or a Versileader) to a standard 9' tapered 3x trout leader. Works just fine.

With skagit set ups a tapered leader is not needed. You could just use a few feet of straight 8lb'ish mono. A tapered leader certainly can't hurt if you can get it out there but with my 7wt, when I do use a skagit head, it's just 3-4ft straight mono.

Which way to the river?

I personally find the tapered tip to tapered leader combo helps to nicely turnover and land lighter flies on lighter skagit rigs. Basically, if you're not gonna go for a scandi trout spey line, this is a good option for lighter surface/subsurface work.
