8wt Rod choice

I have a 8136 and a 11' 8/9 switch rod.

The 8136 is a little heavy .

I was wondering if a 8126 rod would be necessary for medium size river? like Chilliwack river in BC.

Depends on the size of fish.

I am not sure that 6 inches will make much difference. Not sure what fish you are targeting but if you wanted to step down from your current arsenal you might consider a 7126 as an option
