Sinktip leader length

In fishing 10'-11' of T-11 & T-14 what is the ratio makeup of 4'-5' of leader?
My 12" butt section is of 30 lb. Do I use a scarificial taper or just go with a
straight tippet?
I'm thinking of good-size BC steelhead.

Go with 4 ft of straight 12 lb leader. You'll be fine. I use 10 lb...hasn't been a problem.
