custom made tips

I am thinking about making my own tips for my spey rod.
I have a 14 ft rod with a skagit 750.
What line would I use to complete a custom tip made with T14?

Would a single hand double taper (remove the taper)?
What do you'll use to make custom tips?

Thanks in advance Dan

"When using Skagit lines"

See the post under TACKLE by Bob Pauli entitled "When using Skagit lines." I believe that will answer a lot of your questions.

A search in the tackle section using the terms "making sinktips" will turn up a great deal of info in asnwer to your question.

How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB

I would add to the above and say that you should look into picking up Al Buhr's book. It made a lot of sense as I build a few lines and tip set ups. Also, flyfishingresearch.com is a great source for all you need to know on the subject.

Good luck!

Yo Sultan,

Ghost or not I'm glad you dropped by.

PS, I do know the answer.
