floating line with clouser troube

hi guys

have been fishing today with dumbell eyes(the fly that is!) clousers and a floating/slow intermediate guideline shooting head 12 foot leader and 12. 6 8/9 guideline lpxe.

when snake rolling or single speying the fly destroys the foward cast by either anchoring to the water(no matter how quickly I splash and go) or just kinda lobbing itself slowly behind the foward loop.

do i need to use a heavier line weight? is the fly overpowering the line?

i dont want to go heavy on the rods as the Bass in the UK are not like your beasts.

should i just move to the east coast of your country where the fish match the rods?

ahhh!!

got ya! funny enough i went straight to the snake roll and have never bothered with the double. I did a couple of doubles today and come to think of it they did work well.

i wil go for T,s and Doubles when clousering(most of the time at this time of year.)

THANKS

yes its working ,so thanks

the circle spey has saved the day for my floating line clouser dilemas,
next challenge is to master the power bit on the down sweep as the fly tends to land short or half way up the bank.
