will a different line help

hello speyers.

i have recently gone over to 2 handers for saltwaterfly fishing. i am useing a guideline lpxe8/9 (lush!) with a guideline shooting head.(infinity when overhead casting) i have taken to them like a duck to water and have been foolish enough to think im a natural! and a bit cool . being very right handed i am looking a total idiot when spey casting left handed,

would a differnt style line help when learning to cast left handed or is the scandanavian shooting head as forgiving as anything else about.

if so my local casting instructor can rub his hands together

practice, practice, practice, instruction, practice...

Hi Barramundi--welcome to the Speypages!

If the line is working for you right handed then it is safe to say that the left handed thing will only come with practice no matter which line system you choose. If you have access to a local instructor see if (s)he can take a look at your left handed technique and help you pin down a practice program to get your left handed casting in shape.

as a new recruit i can not give enough praise to the Rio international speycasting video it has been a great investment

Don't give up

a number of us are very right-hand dominant and have learned or are learning to use the other hand. I think it is actually easier with two hands than with a single hand rod. Good luck.
