What is the difference between an Instructor and Teacher.?

Question
What is the difference between an Instructor and Teacher?

Take a few moments to think this over: there is a big difference.

Easy. An instructor shows you how to do something. A teacher leads you down a path of understanding, opening dors along the way and pointing you down new paths you never knew existed.

One of the things that always bothered me is how other kids would ask, "Why do I have to learn this? I'm never going to use it." My instructors would answer, "ecause you have to to pass this class." My teachers would answer, "I'm helping you build tools for your knowledge toolbox. The more tools you have, the more opportunities you have in life."

WHere I live there isn't that much water to spey cast in. Or at least not a lot that you need a Spey cast for. But I'm learning to Spey cast because I'm filling my fishing toolbox with tools.
