Grand River Spey Clave Venue Change

Good day everyone,

There are some issues going on at and around Bean Park that affect the feasibility of using it as a venue for this year's Spey Clave. None of the issues are as a result of the Clave but they definitely do affect the Clave. As a result the area at bean park which we have used for parking in the past has now been posted as no parking so we will not have sufficient for the Clave at Bean Park. In the best interest of the Clave we have decided to change the venue for the event to a place where we will have ample parking as well as a suitable place for the presentations. Unfortunately I have had no advance notice of the parking change as the signs were only posted last week and I became aware of it this past Saturday and have lost more then a little sleep working on an alternative.

The Grand River Spey Clave will now be held at the Outfitters Launch at the Brant Conservation Area in Brantford. The conservation area is about a 15-20 minute drive from Bean Park in Paris. The conservation area is operated by the Grand River Conservation Authority so there is a charge to get into the park. The charge I believe is $5.00 but they are working with us to have a lower rate for anyone attending the Clave and I will have the details on this in the next few days and will post it on the clave web site as well as send out an announcement it at that time. Each morning of the Clave I intend to have a volunteer at bean Park for an hour or two in case people still show up there so they can be redirected to the conservation area. For anyone interested in staying over night at the Brant Conservation Area they have ample camping facilities as well as shower/bathroom facilities etc. I and my good friends that always help out at the Clave will be staying over for sure.

Please forward the information about the change of venue to anyone you can think of that might be thinking about attending the Clave. I really need you help as well as that of the fly shops and guides to please help spread the word about this so that we can reach as many people as possible.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns you may. I apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see you all there.

Cheers and thanks for your understanding in this matter.

Randy Wilson (Clave Organizer)

Just a reminder of the change of venue for the Spey Clave. The Clave has been moved to the Outfitters Launch at the Brant Conservation Area in Brantford. A map and directions can be sourced from the main page of the Spey Clave web site. There will be a sign posted at the former site at Bean Park to direct people to Brant Conservation Area. if you encounter any difficulties please feel free to call my cell phone at

519-497-9731.

Brant Conservation Area has asked us to collect the fee to get into the park at the Spey Clave. The fee each day to get into the park will be

$5.00 per person. When you arreive at the gatehouse to the Brant Conservation Area just tell the attendant that you are attending the Spey Clave and they will let you into the park. Follow the signs we will have posted to the Spey Clave. We will accept the payment for the park fee at the event tent where we will also be selling tickets for the raffle. we will give you a card that you can use to get back into the park should you have to leave during the day.

Cheers & thanks Randy Wilson

$5 and camping

Would it a fair assumption that the $5 is waived if you are camping there?

Share ride, share campsite

Hi, wondering if anyone or groups I can split renting a campsite with? I think they let additional tents for a nominal fee, but I am willing to split the cost.
I will definitely be overnighting on Sat night, and can arrive or leave late by one day or so if there is fishing in mind or to help out with logistics.

Also, do you know anyone from MI that is coming I can share ride with? I live in near I-696 and Woodward.

Please send PM if this interest you. Thanks for helping keep cost down and with environment.
