My 2012 Dec Hogan weekend

This was my experience;
As some know I suffered a horrible accident 2 yrs ago, to the point of almost being paralyzed .
Somewhere I saw a spey caster and told myself if I ever got well this is what I wanted to do ,to learn to cast and fish this way.
So it was the driving force that took me nearly 2 years to recover,
through this ,I read dec's books ,watched his and marty's video on tying flies
till I could turn the sound off and tell you what they were saying.
Poppy helped set up an outfit for me and that took me 1 step closer.
There were correspondences ,with dec and marty ,salmon chaser and poppy and very numerous people here that helped me immeasurably ,to which I say thank you.
So now I was finally on to the casting classes,
this last sat and sun .
I was finally able to meet Dec in person ,the weather calmed down just enough to enjoy the weekend,
Dec,
you are well suited for this calling,
your teaching and patience,is unrivaled.
such a down to earth person
easy to talk with ,very personable
and you make learning these sometimes confusing casts fun.
I gained a lot from these 2 days on the river, but most of all I gained a friend.
thank you for all you have done the last 2 yrs.
It is true ,there are still hero's in the world,
someday I hope we run into each other on the river.

Kevin

Thank you Dec Hogan

I attended the Saturday session and just want to add that it was a terrific experience to be on the river with Dec. The man is gifted in his ability to teach in a way that enlightened and inspired me. His passion for all things he does is infectious. I'm looking forward to next years clinic, having a year to utilize what I soaked in. Thanks for the "nuggets" Dec!
