It's funny that since we live in Steelhead Mecca this is the first gathering of it's type. An event like this is long overdue.

The buzz in the valley is all about our first clave.

A big thanks to the guys at Guideline and McBike for getting the ball rolling !

Hi Guys,

I know this kind of event has been long over due for this area. I am looking forward to meet all of you there and I am sure we will have an interesting day. With a bit of luck we may even have some sunshine....

If any of you have special request that you would like to see performed or discussed please let me know and I'll try to slot it in (and no, I do not give pole dancing demonstrations ).

The guys at McBikes are keen and I think it will be a great day. We are getting a whole bunch of Guideline combos to try out so it should be fun! Hopefully this event can grow into a nice little clave up here...

Cheers,

Jaap

I managed to get on the list, even though it starting to look full. Thanks to Peter and Sam for hosting this and I look forward to meeting Jaap.

Looking Forward to Saturday

Hi,

I just started fly fishing and this is exactly what has been missing and what I have been looking for. I started out with a single hand rod but am quickly realizing I should probably be casting 2h for most of the fishing I would like to do.

I am hoping this bootcamp will really accelerate my learning curve and give me a chance to try out some 2h rods before I plunge in and make a purchase or if there is a way I can get away with my single hand for a while longer.

See you on Saturday!

Allright guys, we are all set for tomorrow. I received a whole bunch of rods from Stuart from Guideline that will be rigged up for you to demo. Sam from McBikes will be setting up a tent. I will do some introduction on single hand and changing from single hand to spey as well. Should be a fun day. See you all tomorrow at the Smithers bridge over the Bulkley, around 9:30 am.

Cheers,

Jaap

As the guys above have already said, Sam and Jaap put on a great show. Their attention given to the participants was awesome. It was also great to check out the Guideline stuff. The gear from the other side of the pond was crisp and refreshing and there are a few products I'm going to add to my arsenal.

Thanks Guys !

Thanks everyone for making this first Guideline Bootcamp in BC a success. I hope we will have the opportunity to repeat this event in the future, it was nice to meet some of the people from this area that make up this great angling community. Thank you Stuart for providing all the Guideline gear for this event and Sam from McBike for doing a great job organizing it. See you all out on the river!

Cheers,

Jaap
