Sandy Clave

With the Sandy Clave coming up next week, hope lots of folks are coming and camping.

A reminder that for the past couple of years, the campground has been filling up and by late Thursday is getting full.

Will be doing my normal thing arriving on Sunday the 8th late camping, resting, and fishing around the park for the rest of the days prior to the Clave.

Hope to see you there!

See Ya.

At least three of us from the dark corner of So. Oregon are headed up early Thursday morning.

and from the desert

Even a couple of us from the desert in southeast Oregon will come chase the fish and try to learn something.

Too bad all the speypages members don't wear a secret lapel pin or some other identifier. I'm sure I've spoken with fellow "pagers," but don't recognize them from their site monikers.

Jim, I, et al are moving up our 'head north' date to Wednesday early AM.

Major concern is the Park filling up vis a vis small RV spots. We're not bringing up (towing) a car, so it would get darned interesting if there "were no room at the Inn."

So we're heading up early Wednesday morning. Someone get there earlier .... and want to 'save a space?'

Bye the Bye, what part of SE Oregon are you in? K-Falls?

Fred- I thought you went to the Sandy Clave...

Great times again!

Rainy lastnite and today but at least it wasn't an oven

Travis and I worked with lil Ricky on some of the finer points of distance casting.
Yesterday Mr 160, Kush,I and some others did our usual overhead castin ad also abused some prototype SA lines-Yee Haw!

Wink SM, I'll try to put this in the most "Politically Correct" terms possible.

At the last minute I was asked to 'do things' that were illegal under the Laws/Regulations of the State of Oregon. I couldn't go there.

I'll leave it at that .......

It was my first trip out to the Spey Clave and had a great time on Saturday. Got to see some amazing casters and some great presentations and plenty of gear to drool over....

cov-ops

Fred:

Sounds like you were involved in some covert operations. Too bad we missed you. I was hoping to sample some of your scotch! I may have shared a wee dram of my Kentucky-corn product as well.

Missed the ladies on Fri, but spent all day there Sat.

Photographed the diverse casting styles of some of the notable rock stars in the industry.... Gawesworth, Cook, Howell, Clay.... then played around with a bunch of Sage and Loomis sticks. Will try to post some pics in the near future as time allows

Bought my official 2011 Derek DeYoung T-shirt, and checked out feltless alternatives for wading boots. Ran into a few old friends in the brotherhood and met some new faces.

Appreciated the filling breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided by Santiam Spey Casters, ECHO, El Burro Loco, and Loomis. Man do I love Costco's rotisserie chicken!

Missed Sunday's event.... had a Spey-free date with some Willamette River spring chinook. Finished with five in the box!

Great weekend!
