Women's Intermediate Fly Fishing School -- May 6-8, 2011 (CFR Fundraiser)

The Washington State Casting for Recovery (CFR) program is hosting a Womenís Intermediate Fly Fishing School on May 6-8, 2011 at Sun Country Golf & RV Resort near Cle Elum, WA. This is a rare opportunity for women who fly fish to spend the weekend with some of the most accomplished Northwest women instructors in the sport. Curriculum will include: casting skills and techniques-(including spey casting with a single handed rod), presentation, stream entomology, reading the water, fly selection, line set-up, essential knots and fly tying. The enrollment fee is $375. Meals and lodging are included and enrollment is limited to 20 participants.(Only 3 spots are currently still open.) Instruction will take place on golf course fairways, ponds and the Yakima River.

Detailed information and a downloadable flyer for this Womenís Intermediate Fly Fishing School can be found at:
http://cfrRiverRunAnglers.blogspot.com

The instructors include: Denise Maxwell who is the former World Distance and Accuracy Champion and the first woman to hold a steelhead guide license in BC; Judith O'Keefe who, with her husband Brian, has made two fly fishing instructional DVDs; Mary Ann Dozer, who is one of 10 women in the US who is an FFF Master Certified Casting Instructor; Judy Graham, an FFF Certified Casting Instructor; and Jenn Mitchell, co-owner of a local guide service & fly shop and is well‐versed in single‐hand and two‐handed casting.

This event is a major fundraiser for Washington Stateís Casting for Recovery program, which provides annual therapeutic fly fishing retreats for breast cancer survivors at no charge to the participants. For more information, contact Judy Graham, Washington Casting For Recovery Coordinator, at [email protected].

Please forward this information to any women anglers who may be interested in this event.

Thanks for your support!
