Just a brief update on a few things that are in the works for the Spey Clave. As details are finalized they will be posted to the Spey Clave web site.

Fly Tying:
We are arranging for a large event tent that will be put up at the Clave.A salmon & steelhead fly tying theme is being added to the Clave and willbe housed in the tent.I have 5 guest tyers lined up so far and am working on a few more. Each tyer will be tying and demonstrating a few of their favourite salmon and steelhead patterns. There will be a couple of tyers busy at work in the tent through out the day.

Fly Fishing Movie Night:
Fly Fusion Magazine and FlyNation Films are putting together a fly fishing movie night for the evening after the Clave. We are working on getting a local movie theatre where the movie will be hosted. You will be able to grab your popcorn and drinks then off to watch the movies. They will be giving us the opportunity to preview movies of there various fly fishing adventures filmed during the year.

Cheers & thanks,Randy Wilson.

We are now less then two months from the Spey Clave and counting down.We presently have seven guest tyers that will be tying some of thier favourite salmon and steelhead patterns in the event tent through out the day.We have confrimation with six instructors that will be doing casting/fishing demos in Steve Rajeff,David Bishop,Courtney Ogilvie,Doug Swift,Larry Halyk and Rick Kustich.I am working on a few possible additions to the demos and will post them as the are confirmed.During the day we will have brief talks from the three Larrys.Larry Halyk will talk about On Stream Fishing Etiquette,Larry Mellors will discuss the Grand River Fisheries Management Plan and Larry McGratton will talk about The Friends of the Grand River and their on going efforts and projects on the river.
Mike Verhoef will be set up along the river bank with his rods and gear to work one on one through the day with people with their casting.Work and planning for this Clave began last Fall and it is slowly but surely all coming together. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Cheers & thanks,Randy.

Excellent job as always Randy. Sorry I had to pull out of the demos because of the elbow. The line-up is excellent and it'll be a great day. I'll still be there with some rods and lines for anyone wishing to try DTX tackle.

Cheers
