Will the 13'6" comp be pure "Marlow Rules" - that is on grass and everyone uses the same rod/line set-up?

Tight lines - tyler.

Marlow RULES! ... not Marlow's rules !!! :-)

Hey Tyler --

The 13'6" competition will be 'modified' Marlow rules. The spirit of the event remains the same - average caster wins. The difference is that it will be your own rod/on the water casting.

Less than two weeks until the fair!!

Last Sunday we set the course up for a practice run... its looking good. Please be at the course by 9AM to sign in for your spot & go through the rules.

Keep in mind, there are three divisions, so there's something for everyone!
  • 15'1" Distance Casting
  • 13'6" - "Most Average Caster" .. consistancy is the name of the game here!
  • Unlimited Division

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 19th!! I encourage everyone to give the casting competition a try. This is all about having some fun!

Competition Prizes!!

OK - we're getting close. The cape is ready, Gene's name has been embroidered on the back!

--15'1" Distance Comp: Winner gets their name on the official cape. Who wouldn't want to wear that cape??
--13'6" "Marlow Rules": Average Caster wins top honor! This division is all about consistancy and doing just enough to get out there fishing! PRIZE: Echo Solo Spey Rod 12'9"-7/8 with an Airflo Compact Skagit. Compliments of Poppy at Red Shed!
--Unlimited Division: The big guns!

Casting competitors should be onhand at 9AM to sign in & get a casting spot.
