2019 Brule River Spey Day

Hey hey, I thought one of the guys would post an invite on here so I guess I will, I'm just a spey casting LSSA member passing on the word.

The Lake Superior Steelhead Association`s 5th annual Spey clave on the Brule River September 7th from 11AM till 3PM

McNeils Landing

But its not over at 3pm oh no, try rods, lines, learn casting and how to actually fish with one of these beasts. Generally we all kind of group up in the evening afterwards and go swing up some steelhead and salmon till dusk. Another thing to keep in mind large lake run browns are in the river in numbers at this time as well. While its a little early for steelhead there is fresh fish entering the river everyday.

I don't think I need to mention the great legendary spey casters that show up there and there is a true sense of fun and brotherhood. I believe the OPST crew will be there and Tim from Speyco amongst others. I think he had the longest cast at the informal distance casting competition with a 15` old sage rod last year.

If you love to swing flies and want to learn and improve this is a do not miss event. Skagit, Scandinavian and Spey lines will be cast.

The new OPST rods will be there, and word on the street is that Ed is going to be there this year with Dave.

Everyone welcome! Lunch provided by the LSSA Please BYOB and chair or just sit on the grass next to the rest of us.

I'm very excited and its always a great time. I hope to see you there!
