Spey Clave Boise 2009 August 29th

Hello, new member here. Unfortunately my first post has to be an announcement about our Clave here in Boise, it's only a week away!
Spey Clave Boise will be held in Ann Morrison Park, on the west side by the dam, August 29th.
MIKE KINNEY is our featured presenter, so it should be pretty exciting.

More details at speyclaveboise.com

Hope this isn't considered spam, seems like this is the board for announcements of this sort.
Thanks again, & if you're anywhere near this area, you should consider attending.

Who are you??

I plan to be there. I also know the guy who does your web design. I'm even a member of the organization your raffle proceeds are going to support. But I still have no idea who is putting on this clave. (That's not a complaint, I just find myself scratching my head.) PM me if you want, but who is this?

oh lolz

Hi there, mooky & Mr. Kinney, this is the web developer in question, masquerading as "speychi" which is Michael Bantam's account. Since he's not online often, I'll answer...

He is indeed the fellow in question; he has a casting instruction business @ DreamCastIdaho.com and is a heck of a nice guy.

Anyway, I'd love to have spent more time on the spey clave's site, but it has been touch-and-go short notice work, so please don't judge my skills based on the speyclaveboise.com site, it gets the point across, but that's about it. I built it for next next to nothing and am hosting it gratis.
I'm hoping to make it out for this, and I'll probably get caught up in the spey thing if I do...I'm sure of it, and then I will spend too much money and end up single. Perhaps I will see you guys down there, but that depends on whether I decide to hit the SFB Saturday or not. Decisions decisions...

Sometimes a slick website isn't what's really needed and there is nothing wrong with the Spey Clave Boise website.

The Red Shed Fly Shop will be represented @ this event and we are looking forward to it.

How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB

Don't you mean Ms. Mooky? Or is it Mrs.? (you're married, right Susie?) I didn't think you internet guys liked to CAPITALIZE properly. I heard you shaved a while back.

@ Red Shed, I agree, my professional opinion is that slick is extremely overrated, but I guess what I was saying is I wish I could spend more time on it. By next year it should be a pretty good looking site with more useful content. Thank you for your kind words.

Looks like I will see you guys down there, I am probably going to be there operating the PA sound system. (anybody like METAL?)

P.S. I won't play metal, that was a haha

Well Spey Clave Boise is over. I saw lots of friends, watched Mike Kinney's and Tracy Allen's presentations and had a great time. I also saw Dave Burns tie one of his beautiful spey flies. Nice job M. Bantam.

I agree

It was a very good time. Nice to meet some new folks and catch up with some I haven't seen in a year.
