Cool Excellent gathering.

Hi everyone, I have just been to the Spey / Flyday Moscow. And I would like to say that this event was one of best gathering of serious Fly & Spey anglers I have been.
I had warm welcome from all people and enjoyed so much for the two days event.
I must thanks to Alex who has organized this event and did fantastic M/C during the event, he was very good caster as well.
Thanks to Natalia and Sergey, for kind invitation to the event and special thanks to Chris for excellent translation.
Two days event with excellent atmospheres and weather was just like in California
Some of then already had high level of technique for overhead and Spey casting, therefore I am very much sure of that some of East European Spey casters will visit UK and USA to take over first prize trophies in near future.
I also am sure I shall return to Moscow same time next year, and everyone from world should be welcome to attend this wonderful Spey / flyday clave.

I’d like to thank Nodera-san for visiting our Fly Day… He’s appeared to be a super guy : no matter Double Hander or Single Hander – he is a Master.
A lot of news concerning technical skills and tactical behavior – his visit let us make a break some problems through. Nobuo took part in all competitions showing great results and taking most of honorable awards.
We hope that other foreign fly casters and fly fishermen will come over our Fly Day to share experience with us.

Sounds like a great time. Way to go CND for giving out some great prizes.

Was looking at the pics on the website. Nice Perch in the top pic, we gorge ourselves on those here in the US, deep fried.

What is the fish that looks like a Grayling, large dorsal fin?????

Sorry, my Russian not so good.

Exactly so! It's European Grayling. There's still small and limited population not too far from Moscow(Russia)... Average size 20-25 sm, rarely 30-40 sm. That's why "catch - and - release" only...

We had them here, but they have been gone for 100 years or so.

Still have healthy whitefish, menominee populations though.

Good to see a healthy scene over there.

There was Fly Day morning...
There was ice on the pond still...
There was first Japaniese ever sitting on the beach...
Gentle wind just slightly touched the flags of First International Fly Day in Moscow.
That small man stood up, sun rised high and it all begun...

It was a kind of Invasion...
They came by cars holding strange signs.
They wear khaki and black.
They are perfect casters.
And they took most of awards...
Baltic Order lead by Samurai...
