Sea Run Cutthroat Fly Fishing Workshop - Victoria, April 22nd

The Haig-Brown Fly Fishing Association in Victoria has organized a workshop on fly fishing for Sea Run Cutthroat Trout for April 22nd.

We have four of Washington States premier Puget Sound SRC anglers to present on the "Where, When, What, Why and How" to fish successfully.

Leland Miyawaki, Jeffrey Delia, Nick Clayton and Richard Stoll will help move you from MYSTERY to MASTERY in your pursuit of catching one of the most beautiful coastal fish available.

Only 80 seats available for this workshop.

Please go to www.haigbrown.ca for more information and the specifics for how to get your ticket for this special event.

May the fish make you smile!

Thought I'd put up the Bio's of the 4 presenters that will be at the SRC Fly Fishing workshop.

Leland Miyawaki

Out of respect for Leland’s connection and affection for an earlier generation of SRC fishers and authors, he is one of the ‘penultimate’ anglers fishing the PNW for saltwater gamefish. Since inventing his Miyawaki Beach Popper fly he has fished this top water pattern almost exclusively for searun cutthroat and coho. When not working at the Orvis shop in Bellevue (he’s actually retired), there’s a good chance he’s fishing a Puget Sound beach with a ‘popper’!

Nick Clayton

At 37, Nick is the youngest of our ‘experts’ but averaging 145 angling days per year over the last 7 years, almost exclusively in saltwater, his experience profile is bulging with information. Don’t ask for GPS co-ordinates – anything else is fair game. Living on the Olympic Peninsula has its benefits!

Richard Stoll

As a professional Aquatic Biologist with 50 years of fly angling experience Richard knows his latin for what the fish are eating. Working on Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii, coastal BC and Washington State; having owned 2 fly shops and being a certified casting instructor, means you better have pencil and paper ready to record what he has to offer. Or, you can buy his two books on fly fishing the Pacific Coast to get ready for your next beach excursion.

Jeffrey Delia

For nearly 45 years Richard has earned his living, fly fished and resided on the Olympic Peninsula. His series of “Delia” patterns, sold in local WA fly shops, provide success year round for SRC and salmon. For a fellow who started a guide service in Hawaii, you have to respect someone who says “If I could only fish for one fish and do one kind of fishing for the rest of my life … hands down it would be estuary and saltwater shoreline fishing for native sea-run cutthroat trout.”

Go to Haig Brown Fly Fishing Association for more info and to acquire your ticket on-line.

All profit from this event goes to conservation work of the H-BFFA

Thanks!
