Spey Nation--The Experience 2008

This is a grass routes organization that is being set up to further the culture and techniques of spey fishing in the emerging market of the Great Lakes. This will be our day to celebrate and make a splash. I urge anybody that has thought about buying a first or tenth spey rod, or just thought it was cool looking to come. There will be auctions and raffles to benefit the hatchery or the Salmon River in general. We have some pretty big names that we just need confirmation on and I will be adding them to the list. There will also be oppurtunities the Sunday afterward to take a formal lesson with FFF certified Spey instuctors so stay tuned to find out more on those.

We are taking suggestions and donations for the raffles.

PM me for more details,

Thanks,

Shaq

Spey Nation

Hey All!!

We are currently organizing a get together on the Salmon River in upstate NY for June 21. We have been getting good feed back and this should be a great time. We have a committment from various two hand rod mfg. and the list of instructors is growing. Any questions pm myself or shaq. We are hoping to create a yearly event on the Salmon River as the Spey revolution has yet to fully take hold here. Any and all rod, line and reel mfg.'s are more than welcome, the more the merrier.

will definitely attend

sounds like the date is solid so i will clear schedule to be there. great idea about sunday private lessons. perhaps small groups and reasonable fees. i learned a great deal from juro sharing his time with two other newbies. im ready for more breaking of bad habits. maybe some skamania will come in for the onslought. im sure two or three other long sticks will want to join me. i think randy jones is on the cape sighting morons by then. will this be on the dsr? they have nice accomodations for small groups.

Camping and Lodging is being worked out right now. We are working on blocking some rooms out with special rates and finding out where we can camp. We hope to have that settled before the end of the month.

Hey Zack,

Looks like the wife and I will be attending as well.

Really looking forward to doing a pilgramage to the some of the classic streams of the Catskills and Adirondacks as well on this trip.

We have another good rate for cabins about 3 miles from the event. $85 per night, sleeps 3. These are usually $125 per so pm me for details.

We also recieved confirmation that Rick Kustich will be attending and demonstrating throughout the day.

Thanks for all your enthusiasm,

Geoff

Me, too.

6 hour drive, but worth it. I plan on attending. I caught two 21# kings on my 10'6" switchrod I built last year, there, well worth the drive.
