Clearwater Spey Clave #3

We are fast approaching the date (Sat. Sept. 29, 2007) for the third Clearwater Spey Clave. There are still some spots left in Mike Kinney's casting class (Sun. Sept 30) and Al Buhr's line splicing class (Fri Sept 28). There are also some spots for beginning spey casters if they want a lesson.

For further info please contact Poppy. 208-486-6098

How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB

Al's class

Does A do any splicing or loops on mono core lines? What time and how long is his class? This would cut into my fishing time.

I fish because the voices inside my head tell me to.

I haven't taken Al's class except for a short lesson that he gave several of us in the bathroom at the Sandy Spey Clave (where we all kept are feet together with no toe tapping). I do believe he spliced a couple of mono core lines as well as braided core lines. The guy is amazing at loop making/line splicing.

As I understand it the class will last most of the day with a break for lunch. It will be held in the Peck community center which is about 5 minutes from the shop. The starting time will be 9:00am.

I should also note that Al is donating a good part of his class fee money to local kid's fishing projects.

Al's Line Class

Al's class if VERY comprehensive. You will learn how to build, design and splice lines. You will learn many ways to make loops and do splices. You will come out of the class with more knowledge about lines, loops and splices than you thought possible. I have taken the class and audit the class the second time. This man knows lines and how to get the most of your system. You will also come out of the class with sinking line knowledge that WILL CHANGE your way of thinking how deep and effecitive your line is getting!!!

Worth every penny, dime and dollar

Mrs RedShed has close to 500 cookies made. She had better get going as last year she had 700 cookies and they lasted about 2 hours.
