I am just reminding everyone of the good times to be had at Rockport this weekend. The Martini Bar will be making its first appearance at Marlow's shindig and we are looking forward to celebrating the end of another spring season.

See you there.

I really, really regret not being able to come up for this. I would love to see the river and friends, and spey groups are always fun. Alas, partly as a result of the time spent for and at Spey-O-Rama, I am drowning in work instead of enjoying the water in a more preferred fashion.

So, everyone, enjoy yourselves and we'll hopefully see you on the Sandy in a couple of weeks.

The donation of a $400.00 gift certificate arrived from the Red Shed. Now that's generous. Thanks Poppy. I am also expecting some lines donated by Charles St Pierre for additional prizes, if Charles can get out of some other obligations. Thanks Charles, even if you can't adjust your schedule and bring the lines.

Everything is ready for the event and it looks like the weather is going to cooperate. I'm looking foreword to a great week end and seeing all of you again. Bring your sun block.

Weather and stuff

I suggested yesterday that we bring sun block for the Saturday event. After reading this mornings forecast in the paper and on the Net, the sun block may come in handy but a rain coat may be in order as well. It must be spring.

Hi Jim. Carol Green lived in Lewiston ID. but has been traveling some since. I don't know where she is now but I expect she will be back on the Ronde sometime this summer or fall. She's about as good at keeping in touch as I am.

The Sandy Clave is next week end and they have another great agenda. I'm looking foreword to it.

See you on the Sandy

Hi Marlow,

Due to bad back right now, won't be able to make it up to the Games this w/end. Will miss seeing all the folks up there.

Hoping back will be in good enough shape to make it to the Sandy Clave and will camp in the usual spot. See you down here.

Have a great event up there!

Best,

Great day. Good to see some old friends.

Had a wonderful time talking to Bob and Don. There is more fishing knowledge in those two then a hundred of us Johnny come latelys.

Someday I might figure out that grass casting stuff. Who won the casting competition?

That was fun

The event and the weather turned out perfect. We had a great crowd and a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who attended, donated prizes and volunteered to help run the games. You are who make it what it is. We missed all if you who couldn't make it but I hope you can next year. I hope to see you at the Sandy this coming weekend.

We had some young students who received instruction from some real pros, mostly from Kelly Hassell from Telkwa BC. He and his wife set up and ran a single handed casting game that everyone enjoyed. We kidnapped them from a near-by camp and kept them captive the entire day. Thay had planned to leave in the morning. What a great couple.

The prizes donated were a $400.00 gift certificate donated by Poppy over at the Red Shed on the Clearwater and 3 Reo lines donated by Charles St Pierre valued at over $300.00. Thanks so much guys, your very generous.

First prize went to Charles St Pierre for the score closest to the average score. He selected the gift certificate, even though he had a chance to get one of his lines back.

Second prize went to the person with the highest score. Kush had the high score of 261'9" but declined the prize so it went to Buddy Klinkens with the second highest score of 245'11".

Third prize went to Burt Kinghorn for the score second closest to the average.

Fourth prize went to Ian Stubbs for the score third closest to the average. Ian ran the numbers but didn't even have to manipulate them to win a prize.

Congratulations guys and thanks you all for participating.

Marlow,

Sandi, myself and the new pup Dani thank you for a wonderfully good time. As has been the case every time we've attended this event, the great company is the highlight! It is very cool that the "Skagit crowd" - old and new - can get together for a little celebration at the end of the season. I already look forward to next year!

Someone should mention that the "competition" is geared to give everyone a chance to "win" with the caster closest to the average being deemed the winner. Marlow in his characteristic low-key way failed to mention that the caster that was closest to the average was none other than one Marlow Bumpus! Of course he declined the prize, but never-the-less "Mr Average" is a real winner in my book.

Tight lines - tyler.
