I will. We are planning a full week-end, Friday night through Sunday. There will also be a banner ad on this site as well.

Best,
- David

How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB

Jamey,

I would plan on being in Niles, MI, the evening of Friday, August 17th through mid-day Sunday, August 19th.

Opeth, we would love to have you. If you are interested in coming, please sign up for our newsletter: http://www.uppermidwestflyfishing.co.../Steelhead.htm Signing up will help us plan better. We will have all the details about presentors, rods available to try, schedules, accomodations, and directions posted in March, not later than April 1st. Well, there are reasons why you double-check everything. We were in Niles yesterday for a little steelheading and legwork for the Steelhead-Spey Days. We stopped by the city hall to say hi and despite our previous telephone calls there was a miscommunication about the dates. Our event will be held August 17th - 19th. Despite the snafu, the folks in Niles have been wonderful to work with and have been very helpful and supportive. The City of Niles, and River Front Park are very picturesque. The facilities, accommodations, and, restaurants are going to be perfect for our event. We also spent quite a bit on time walking the river. The River Front Park system offers an amazing amount of space to spread out on for casting (and fishing). The part of Park that we will be using for the presentation has a new amphitheater, facilities, a wonderful bank to watch the presenters, and an area for young children. It is located in the center of town and restaurants and stores are within a couple of blocks. There is ample parking within a stone's throw of the river. This is going to be a great venue.

I have been frequently asked about the fishing. Depending on the weather, there will be Skamania in the river. If the temps are warm, the St. Joseph is a world class smallmouth river.

I apologize for the change of dates.

Sounds like a great choice for a venue David. How is the wading there? I have driven by but never stopped.

Wading is descent, even if the river is up, which I dont see happening in aug. If you want a shot at a skammy--it is a stones throw from there.

Good wading, even newbies will feel comfortable wading. I was there in mid-August last year and it was nice.
