Wink Speyfair 2006 Day Two!!!!

We are still down on the meetng of the Tolt and the Snoqualmie is Carnation Washington. The turn out has been awesome and everyone is having a great time.

All pre-qualification has been completed and the real spectacle will be this afternoon when everyone will be showing off their mad skills on the river. If you are near, you need to be here.

Another Great Weekend at Carnation

Aaron and company put on another excellent event in Carnation, WA. Very impressive to see so many fine casters sending line across the Snolqualmie river. Good food and GREAT company!!

Does anyone know the outcome of Aaron's casting competition?

How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB

Gordon Armstong did not compete. One of his teammates James Chalmers won the casting competition I believe.

I won't go into great detail on the results as Arron will be posting them soon and I don't wan't to get them wrong. But I will say that Gordan decided to take a break this weekend and did not enter the competitions. There were some pretty long casts made this year, more 150'ers than I could count in the 15ft division, this guy from Cali even managed to can one at 168' The wind was favorable the current was strong enough to make you really plant your feet and it played evil tricks with the running line. There were even cutty's that would slash at your yarn when you set up for the angle change.

More later ... but

After watching these 'young bucks' RIP line off the water .. several of us 'old timers' told Aaron .. like the Sr. Golf folk ... we need a "over 65" grouping.

Casting Rule change

I proposed they let those of us over 70 ADD our best three casts together so we could be computative. I found no support for the recommendation. Guess they just want to keep us older casters out of the event

Rich - I hear your pain... but I think maybe the senior division should be for those casters over 50
