Maybe I am just slow, but I don't get it....

e. Each competitor will make 3 switch casts, one from the right shoulder and one from the left shoulder.

(One from the right and one from the left is two casts, not three?)

f. Optional: - 3 practice cast in each direction - Right to Left and Left to Right over each shoulder

g. Four (4) measured casts in each direction.

(Four measured casts in each direction? I thought there were only three casts?)

speyfair 2006

Hi Aaron
Looking forward to seeing all the gang in a few weeks, good luck with the preparations.
I would just like to ask a few questions relating to your competition
.
1. Will there be a change of direction,or will it be straight down the line

2. In the unlimited 18foot class will the casting be off both shoulders, with an aggregate score taken

3. Are there any line diameter restrictions,in the 15 foot category e.g. 2.5mm or can any diameter eg Skagit lines large diameter similar to Spey o rama be used

Looks like we will be arriving at Carnation on Thursday or Fri,travelling up from B.C. So if any assistance is required with anything we will only be to pleased to help,
Jimmy and Gwyneth Jack will be there, along with Gordon Armstrong,Ruairi Costello and myself.

Lightbulb Good chuckle here BUT!!!!!

" ... Looks like we will be arriving at Carnation on Thursday or Fri,travelling up from B.C. So if any assistance is required with anything we will only be to pleased to help ..."

Rotate your map, you've got it 'top to bottom.'

All kidding aside!!! Given three of the fellows will be staying in the motor home with Bruce and I, IF!!!!! you're going to be there on Thursday I need to know ASAP. I am/was planning to head up (from southern Oregon) for arrival on Friday afternoon. No big deal to move this up a day BUT I have to let the King County Park's folk know so I can change my space reservation.

Jim

1. The caster may select of have a change of direction or to cast in straight line.

2. In the unlimited class we will be casting off both shoulders and averaging the cast for the best average cast.
3. At this time there is no restriction in line diameter.

Please bring some of the Carron Rods along for us to cast.

Thanks for the Support
Aaron

Simone Hsieh and Doug Duncan Nextcast Production Demo on Nextcast,
Doug and Simone?! Now that is too cool. 5-6 years ago Doug ( ) didn't know what end of a spey rod to hold (hint: the fat end ). Last year, tied for sixth in the distance casting in San Francisco.

Doug, if your watching this section of the board, will that delightful wife of yours be up too? Ask and Bruce and "Lady" will be with us in the motor home. Even have a clean set of coverall's for you to 'chase' her under the Coach. (Old story guys, tell you later.)
Fred

Clave Demo

Aaron,

Sorry to inform you that I will not be able to do a demo because my family (wife and my son) decide to go with me. So, I will be busy showing them the city and meeting friends in the mornings, but I will show up for a few casting the afternoons to see where I am (any improvment since last year).

Doug may be interesting in doing a demo for the clave. Fred: watch out. Doug is not like he was 6 years ago. Now he got a wife, a new back yard, and a big gun that can cast a country mile. He is different.

Wanted Speyfair workers

Wanted Speyfair workers

Tolt McDonald Park Carnation Washington

I will need some help staring at 9:00 am Friday October 27, 2006 I will have my Hospitality trailer set up adjacent to the service road at the south end of the park. To avoid confusion please park where we park for Saturday on the River and walk though to park on service road to the campground.

The two major jobs will be putting up the canopies for the vendors and laying out the distance-casting course in the river. Some people will need waders.

We would hope to have all the work done by 1:00 P.M. so we can start qualifying rounds for the Speycasting Competition.

Attached find pdf map of the Campground

The Hospitality Trailer will be located on Spot 11
Vender will be under Canopies in front of spaces 10 and 11.
All and all it looking to be a good show.

Thanks for the Support
