Anglers West Spey Clave

Scott from Anglers West asked me to post this info:

Anglers West 2nd Annual Spey Clave is set to go down March 5th/2006 at Peg Leg Bar, the venue of last years clave and several fishBC spey casting get togethers. Same weekend as the Tradex show for all you out of towners...

This years Clave will feature Demo's on the lastest casting styles, new rods, lines, reels, BS and more...

Rods from Sage...including the new VT2 line up, the full G.Loomis line up, 15+ models, new CND models, Temple Fork, Echo Scandi rods, Orvis Northwest Series, and more...

New lines from Rio, Airflo, CND and SA...

Plus some smokin new reels to drool over...

Featuring all kinds of dudes who can cast and love to teach you how to cast as well, from Sage, Loomis, CND, Echo and more....some of these guys just chuck it way the hell out there and some are still scratching their heads how they do it! (its not that hard, we'll show you how)

Drinks, munchies (Burgers and Dogs) and some free stuff to win from participating manufacturers...lines, hats, hoodies...

HEY......its free!!!!

Directions:

Head East on Hwy #1, take Exit 119 to Chilliwack.
Go North on Vedder Rd which turns into Yale Rd and starts to bend East.
Go left on Young Rd. heading North.
Turn right on Hope Rd. heading East.
Take a left on McSween heading North 3.7km to Peg Leg Bar.

Hi Dana,
Sounds good, i think i will come along and watch the guys, try out some gear, i would take some Clan rods, if it was ok, got some new toys from Harry, including a beast of 18ft, i will try and find out from Anglers West if that is ok, i can pick up a couple of new long belly lines as well.

Hi Dana,
I will just come along to watch , most of the rods i am taking over are sold already, so by the time of the clave i will only a couple of rods left, and some carron lines.
So will see everybody there.

Thanks to Scott and his staff at Anglers West for organizing another great event. Great to see so many old friends! At dinner we were discussing how much Speycasting is growing in BC and how much the general skill level has increased from last year. The only explanation for this of course would be the great demo that I did last year...

Some highlights for me included the new Sage VT2/SA short head line combo that Poul had on the water, the Loomis 16ft Greaseliner/RedShed Special custom Speyline combo that Bruce Kruk was casting, and watching Francios Blanchet reverse underhand cast and Matt Suzuki cast long belly in the classic style.

As a side note, lots of folks were asking about The White Rod and line that I was using. The rod is a custom made teaching rod that LOOP made for me on a LOOP Greenline 14ft 9 weight blank; the line an 11/12 LOOP Quattro.
