Is there a campground at or near by? I am thinking about driving up from Portland and don't know the area.

most of the campgrounds nearby are forest service campgrounds which are closed in the winter. in past years, folks have camped at the park without trouble eventhough it is not allowed. if you were staying in your camper or motorhome I dont think it would be a problem however if you were going to set up shop with a large tent and such, you might have some problems.
