Speyfair 2005 is History

Speyfair 2005 is History

Over the three days of Speyfair we had 2 ˝ days of great weather and the last ˝ day was drizzle.

It was nice to see old friends and make new ones. The turn out of the Spey community made the effort put forth in planning the Speyfair worth while.

Brian was casting a 15' 10 weight Burkheimer and a 85' 11/12 Carron line.
For the short head he was casting a 13' 10 weight Burkie with the 11/12 Hardy salmon head.
Kush was casting a 16'7" CND Thompson Specialist with a CND line I think.

An amazing list of presenters, tackle companies, and prizes. I wish that I could have attended. Aaron it looks as if you had a premier event. Thank you for the report.

How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB

Are the dates for next years event scheduled?

I'm thinking of having a trip for steelhead fishing next year and it would been great to participate on a speyclave during my visit.

What caught my eye is the difference between the two is only 5 feet. Given Tyler's rod was (?) probably over 15' in length, thought the distance between the two would have been a bit more. What lines were the fellows using?
