Sandy River Clave: Who's going?

Just wanted to see how many from this forum are coming to the sandy river spey clave? There is a great lineup this year, the one's I'm looking forward to seeing the most are Klaus Frimor and Al Buhr.

I'm going to be there interviewing 14' 8 wts for a place in my starting lineup......AND Gary Anderson's new series of 14'4" sticks! Maybe an interlude with some mid-bellies as well.

Warning to all newcomers (like I was last year) the Sandy clave can get expensive, cost me a Meiser 15' 8/9 MKS on my first visit. God only knows what it will be this year.

Eddy, you are really going to enjoy the Clave. It's a great time! Unfortunately I will be stuck in Seattle and unable to attend.

Better yet they even FEED YOU for free!

There is a small entry fee to the park ($5.00 but once you're in ... your in.

Here's a full over view of Oxbow Park, camping, etc. One thing that did catch my attention is apparently you can now 'reserve' a camp site ($20.00/nt). If you plan on over nighting I'd strongly recommend you dial up that number and get on the list.

Spoiled

I go every year and live only a short drive away. I wish they had better RV access. Think group camp with like minded folks. Could involve some spirits, stories, cigars and favorite patterns.

I'll be testing out a new edition to my quiver Meiser and who knows what else.
Great stuff and great people.

Back Eddy, you going all the way from Denver! I live in Fort Collins but was in Portland for about 11 years and attended many of these over the years. You going for the clave only?

I might be there

Friday at least. We should have name tags with our Spey Clave forum usernames! Tom, we met on the Clearwater last fall so I think I'll be able to recognize you. Hope it doesn't cost me a Meiser. Or maybe I hope it does.

Sandy Clave

In todays screwed up world of constant change, we need some anchors that assure us the earth is still upright & spinning on it's normal axis. Rob Allen sitting at the Burkie booth is one of those anchors. It just didn't look right @ Spey-O-Rama.

When Al Buhr speaks, pay attention. That guy is a treasure trove of information. And every mow & then, pure gold is revealed.

I fish because the voices inside my head tell me to.

Been some time last I could make that drive; Old 'Doggie Dog's,' and me,
pick up a rod and take it down to the river. 'Well what do you think?'

Park People cut me/11 year old Dogs a hell of a lot of 'slack.'
