Lodging

For those of you attending the Spey-O-Rama this year who may be in need of lodging, the closest hotel is about a mile away, and is called the Great Highway Inn. It's about a 2 star hotel. I was able to arrange (I think) a discounted rate for the function at $98/night (plus tax), which is considerably less than the rack rate of $120/night. If you call, tell them you are attending a conference in the Park. They are a somewhat loosely organized there; if you get any flak, tell them you were there last year and the rate was $98/night.

Another recommendation

Ray

A few people I know have recommended the Castle Inn, 1565 Broadway, SF 94109. I checked the Spey O Rama nights and it was at $99. I have not stayed there myself so I cannot personally recommend it. Looking at the map it is not too far away from the Golden Gate park.

Really looking forward to this event.

It was great fun last year, and sure to be a winner again this year.

To all,

Along with a good cross section of new two handed sticks, we're going to have Paul Miller tying his "Super Spey" Rhea Prawns, along with Todd Scharff tying his style of Super Spey Rhea tube flies.

A special tyer and angler at the table will also be Horace Crawford of the Bay Area.

Horace has over a decade of nearly daily experiance logged onto the Sacto Delta Striper fishery, utilizing two handed overhead deliveries. He will have lots to share concerning some of his specialized fly patterns, and terminal leader/loop systems he has designed for this fishery.

This should be great fun.....!!!!!

Carron are Coming

Four hairy Scotsmen - The Carron team consisting of Jimmy Jack, Andrew Toft, Gordon Armstrong and James Chalmers are attending this years Spey o Rama and are looking forward to meeting up with all you folks who are going to be there.
They will have the full range of Carron Jetstream Spey lines with them for you to try on your rod. You would also be very welcome to try out what we think is the best combination - a Carron rod and Carron Jetstream line! Please feel free to speak to the boys - you will be surprised to find how helpful they are!
The New Carron Jetstream Trout lines will also be available for you to try - by kind permission of Bob Meiser - on his beautiful collection of rods.
Last but not least - we would like to thank Bob Meiser for all the help he has shown us - this year and last - it is most appreciated.
See you there!

Hi Sean,

Leaving tomorrow AM.

Got your message...Yes, if you could drop a batch of rods off at Aaron's I'd appreciate it.

Those guys can play with them until the Sandy Clave.

As far as waders go ?

Some of tales told at a few of the tables visited may only require hip-boots, or even mid-calf farm boots.

....But at others, the stories get pretty deep and may require full chest high waders......I'm quite sure ours will fall into that catagory....};^)....!!!!

Really looking forward to seeing you again Bro.
