Line Weight Limit!
So...I have read that 1,100 grains will be max.
How will that effectively be implemented for the participants? Once a line gets wet, it will pick up a bunch of grains. Some lines are going to hold more water than others depending on line durometer, length etc.
Some of the participants will show up as much as a week early to get familiar with the ponds, some will show up later and so forth.
It seems like a date and time of weighing would be in order so that competitors have time for practice sessions along with ample time to dry their line for an "official" weigh in.
As well, are guys going to have to register the line they will be using or lines so that a simple switch after weigh in does not happen?
Standardizing the lines is a great idea as that will also bring the rods back into something that more closely resembles a more true 10 weight, just seems like there needs to be some clear and concise guidelines as the competitors come a long ways from all around the globe to compete.
It would be a bummer to not see some guys compete and an even bigger bummer for competitors that spend a lot of money to get there and a lot of time practicing to be ready to be there.
