On April 19th, 2014 from 10am-4pm at Wille Hall at COCC. The is the Community Page for what we at the Bend Casting Club hopes will become an annual event.
On April 19, 2014, artists, filmmakers, sculptors, fly tyers, casting instructors, conservation organizations, local businesses, and community groups will descend on Wille Hall at COCC from 10am to 4pm.
The purpose of this event is to showcase culture, heritage, and ethic of the sport of fly fishing.
There will be films showcasing the ethic of conservation, the programs and projects local and regional organizations are performing to enhance and protect our water, along with good old fashioned "fish porn" supplied by the world famous Catch Magazine crew.
There will be an area to discover more about the technique of tying flies and casting fly rods, along with an area to learn both of these activities first hand from local tyers and casting instructors.
Along side all of this there will be local artists sharing their mediums including illustration, carving, and filmmaking. As well, we will be putting together a showcase of the history of the modern fly angler with a place to see how things have evolved over the years with this activity.
In the middle of all of this there will be an opportunity for raffle products to buy tickets for, and even a clothing manufacturer doing custom silk screening of shirts on site for purchase!!!
