I am looking for one or more persons to go with me on a float trip of the Ponoi River In Russia starting on Aug 29 in Murmansk.  The cost of the one week trip will be $2800 plus transportation (abouat $1600 from Reno, NV) which is a real bargain for this trip  Frontier charges a lot more..  If your interested please email me for details

Sorry, but I made a mistake.  This trip would start on Aug 19, not Aug 29.  This   is supposed to be one of the best Atlantic Salmon rivers in the world.  There would be 4 to 8 people on it.

Dear John,

I saw your entry on the VFS and Bullentin Board and paste my entry from there in here:

"As I am involved in the salmon fishing on the Kola I find your request a bit surprising. May I ask a few questions?

Who is arranging this trip?

What part of the Ponoi is about to be rafted?

Are you certain that it not is in conflict with other operaters who have longterm leases on this river?

The reason why I ask is just to make sure that you not are taken for a ride. I am very keen to learn more about this."

"Tight lines"

The trip is supposed to be organized by Andrey Velikanov,  who is supposed to have a history on the Ponoi.  I would appreciate any input that you may have

If you are involved in salmon fishing on the Ponoi, what type of services do you offer?  What other alternatives are there?

Thanks

Hello John,

Actually I am not involved in the Ponoi itself. I act as a consultant to the owners of rivers Kharlovka, Eastern Litza, and Rynda on the Kola's north coast. Aside from those I also have been ivolved with the rivers Yokanga and Umba.

As all major operators on the Kola rely on the weekly Finnair Saturday Helsinki - Murmansk flight we all meet on the airport. Being a member of the "circuir" I know those who operate on the Ponoi well.

The Ponoi is the largest of Kola's rivers. Frontiers fish the middle-lower part were fishing is most prolific. Another operator run a camp further upriver which also produces worthwhile fishing - although not as good as further down. (Check carefully were you are about to raft.)

As I dont't feel it to be correct to do outright marketing here I would like to ask you to e-mail me for possible offers. This late in the booking-season deals normally can be made, should any vacancies have popped up.

Tight lines,

Per
