Help ,what would you gentlemen suggest to an old fashoioned Dt speycaster to match my wonder rod , which seem under loaded with a wulf 7/8. Cortland lines would be Ideal as the store stocks them . Thanks

I have the same rod and found the Midspey 7/8 not loading it at all. This is a very fast action rod. I tried my Windcutter 7/8/9 on it still felt light. My Mastery Spey 8/9 worked better and my Wulff TT 10 worked best on this rod that St. Croix calls a 7/8 wt... go figure :-)

I have only cast this rod breifly as it belonged to a friend but the Windcutter 7/8/9 that he had on it felt fine.

Well , the sea trout fishing was rather fun , so the bigger rod remained in its tube . must add that the Llandysul Angling association were superb in their welcome to 11 anglers from far away , the waters are great , the locals friendly +helpful . those in the party who managed too resist the temptation of warm beds all caught at 3am monday morning . your correspondent was weekin the flesh due too fishing all thru saturday until dawn , a visually stunning event .. Must try that rod out soon andy

We had one of these 13' 7/8's at the last Speydays, & everyone agreed that either a Cortland 444 in DT9F or a Windcutter 8/9/10 was the "best".
Of course different casting styles would change that...
