A friend of mine wants to purchase some steelhead patterns for fishing the Bulkley this fall. I tie my own, so I'm sort of out of the loop. What fly shop would you recommend ? He lives in Key West, so he'll have to mail order. A good colr catalogue would be helpful. Thnaks, Keith.

Kaufmans and Orvis have quite a selection in their books; pricie but ....
Depending upon what patterns he wants to carry I'd also have him go go JDHill Discount Fly's on the web. I've spent more money than I'd want to admit to the JoanMeister, but all have been as advertised and at about 75 to 85 cents each. Bigger patterns may run a bit more but heck of a lot cheaper than the first two noted above.

Kam, I think all the shops mentioned so far are very good but your friend should take a look at The Fly Fishing Shop's online catalog. I've never seen a website load so fast. Every time I've e-mailed Mark Bachmann he has answered very quickly. They have the most extensive spey fishing section of any on line shop I've viewed so far and that is a lot. No sales tax in Oregon and free shipping I believe. MJC

Bow to good knowledge. The "Markus of B (ackman)" is a cool guy. As advertised, always.
