I own several sage 9141 spey rods that I use for overhead/european casting, but I would like to experiment with some traditional casts such as the Snap T, Single Spey and the Double Spey, will the 10/11 mid spey work for these casts or are these rods too fast? Right now I use strictly shooting heads on these rods so I can't even experiment with the lines I own. I would like very much if I could cast these rods as well as I can cast the sage 7136 and 8150 traditional, but the 8 and 9 wt mid spey lines feel awkward on the 9141.
Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 9141, but use it primarily for spey casting. For a floating line, I currently use a 8/9 Rio accelerator (Although I'm experimenting with a couple of hybrids.) For tips, I use a 8/9 mid spey. A 10/11 would overload that rod for me. You might check Simons' rec. for the Rio lines for that rod.
The 8/9 mid spey with tips of 15' or 24' seems to be right for me with that particular rod. When I'm fresh, I don't have to roll the tips to the surface before casting. I also cast plenty of distance with it. Hope this helps.
