John Hazel & Dec Hogan are offering a one day spey casting clinic on the Deschutes River near Maupin.  The dates available are July 21 or July 22.  The clinic will cover all areas of spey casting and is designed for all levels beginner through expert.  Clinic will cover manufactured and custom line designs, their appropriate use and application.  A full range of casting styles will be discussed and demonstrated.  You will have the spey rod in your hands on the river and one on one instruction from two of the top spey casters in North America.  Bring your own spey rod/s if you have them, if not, there will be plenty of two handed rod outfits available for you to use.  Class size is limited to ten students.  The cost of the clinic is $125, which includes instruction from 9-5, a nice lunch, and cold beverages.

John Hazel is one of the pioneers of spey casting in North America.  He has been teaching spey casting since the early 1980's and has consulted some of the leading rod manufacturers on spey rod design.  John is a full time fly fishing guide on the Deschutes River and a well known name in the world of steelheading.  Dec Hogan is another well known name in spey casting and steelheading.  He is a guide on the Skagit/Sauk Rivers as well as one of the top spey casting instructors in North America.
