I know that this was a board topic a while ago, but the time is now near! I am going to have my trailer at Howard Miller Park from March 20-25th or so. The "Martini Bar" as it is known up on the Thompson with its 25' awning makes a great gathering spot for cigars, toasts (martinis or single malt preferred), general B.S. and new friends. If you are going to be in the neighborhood let me know and come on by! Tight lines - tyler.

I think I'll need (deserve) a break by then! Count me in, Ty!

It might be a good time to add some new blood to The Brotherhood of the Black G.P!

Hmmm . . . . . sounds like one of those Fraternity Rituals!

Man you had to pick the week that we are trying to get to code complete and the weekend I have to go to Portland to play rugby.  Pisser I would have loved to join the brotherhood of the GP.    Maybe I will be able to sneak out for a day.

JJ

Brian and Jeff,

Brian, the ritual sacrifice I had in mind concerned the Chest Beast!!!!

Jeff, if you can sneak out for a day we will be there.
As well, there will be assorted other days when 2 or more of us are out. The "Martini Bar" will also be back down at Howard Miller for the Easter Weekend (if all goes well on the home front!), so we could also do the Brotherhood Ritual thing then.

ps. Brian, I KNOW that right about now you are trying to figure out how to get Scary Spice to that ritual sacrifice thing!

Nope . . . I second the CB as Ritual Sacrifice!

SS is somewhere in Wales as I understand it.  She's (or her husband's) probably just finished the Ultimate Sacrifice by now anyway <g>

How was the fishing?  I fished the S/S last week - 3 days in the rain without a tug!  The river was empty and the reports gloomy.  Anyone know what's happening to this previously superb run?

Hey CJ,

Check Dennis Dickson's page for part of the reason - gill-netting.  Dennis is guiding on the Skykomish instead of his usual Skagit/Sauk haunts because of poor fishing this year.

I spent the Sunday chasing steelhead with Tyler on the Skagit.  Pretty fun day for us - I'll let him post the details on Monday!

Sorry this a Monday a week later than Brian expected as my computer was behind picket lines for a week! The up side is that it allowed me 2 more fishing days. Brian and I did fish the Skagit a week ago Friday and after a fuitless morning upriver we went into the Mixer for the afternoon. Brian LDR'd a fish way in the tail-out and just above the Mixmaster (I knew it as I could just make out the cursing from where I was up in the gut) and I had a good pull in the Mixer proper, but no hook-up before moving down to the tail where I landed and gorgeous 12-13lb hen so fresh she still had sea-lice! This traveller put on a very good show with 4 or 5 jumps and a good run. As is often the way both Brian and I forgot our cameras - it is too bad as she was really pretty! I did get a picture of the one I caught in the Sauk on the Tuesday of the same week a buck of 15-16lbs. The success however, has been spotty - to say the least! Three of us fished the Sauk/Skagit a week ago today with one pull between us. And in speaking to a prominent guide found out that he had gone 17 DAYS without a fish for his clients! My gut feeling (and fondest hope) is that the runs are simply late and this very moment are finning their way towards an interception point with my fly!

I fished the Skykomish Friday with a group of friends in 2 rafts and between the 5 of us we could not hook up either. However, we did see fish rolling, as well as some as we drifted over plug water - so there were at least some there. I'm getting desperate enough that I might just might stay north of the border this weekend and check out the Squamish.

Tight lines - tyler.
