Happily, I've only had to exercise my editorial pen twice since this board has been active. While I am hesitant to step in, we really can't have disparaging comments made about individuals. Thanks to everyone in general for keeping things above the belt.

Wow. I remember the first one as it made me jerk my head back as in "who is this fellow." Think I missed the 2nd such; glad you jumped in and cleaned up some twit's act. That's the strength of this and the flyfishing forum board; if you're not a gentleman/woman .... go elsewhere.

What I want to know is -----can we spread disparaging stuff about Fred?

Too easy Brian. Let's see: Same wife for years, doesn't fool around, both cats and the dog are at least 10 years old and don't run off, same fishing car since 1990, pretty much the same fishing togs, loves two handed rods but has been known to stray back to a single hander on occation, takes a bath every morning, shaves and uses underarm d., doesn't scratch his butt or 'private parts' too often in public, likes single malt scotch, etc.
So much to work from, lets go at it.

I think we can make disparaging remarks about his age. And we all know men of that generation have a horrible taste in music... j.k ofcourse

Any person who like's Single Malt Scotch and loves Two Handed Rods is OK by me, So you will not hear anything bad about Fred from me. But living in Oregon i do hear stories about him, Not that i would repeat them(but if i was offered a nice single malt or the use of a nice two hander for the day you never know what i would talk about).tight lines, brian

Good luck to all,
If you can come up with something disparaging about Fred, i'd be surprised...I;'ve met the man, cast with him, read his posts, and can honestly say that I don't think it's possible...may tend to ramble on occasion...but other than that and him being a couple years older than I, he's as kind a gentleman as they come...glad to know you Fred!

It sounds like Fred has all his priorities put together. With a life like that he'll probably be fishing into his 80's. I think we could all learn a thing or two from this including the drinking of a better quality of ambrosia, (myself I'm partial to Irish whisky).

Wait a minute! Wait a minute!! Perhaps we should talk about bodily functions!! I had to ride with Fred from Medford to the Sandy at the last clave!!
But his taste in music is impeccable!!

To all: The object of the lesson to Fred is keep your mouth shut, and your fingers off the key board after you've had the second "double Malt." Actually, love Jamison's also.

Honestly I am thrilled at how helpful and polite everyone is on this site. I have to moderate a site that can be the exact opposite. Dana I tip my hat (and glass) to you and everyone on this site for the breath of fresh air you provide for me.

Having read this thread about 4 times now, I can't help but chuckle each time. kudo's to Fred for being such a sport. In honor, maybe we should we give him a special prize , perhaps some new deodorant (I vote for push-up Loon fly tying wax, high tack) or some sort of scratching apparatus for those "parts" (say 14' length, moderate action)?
all hail fred!!

Loco, next time we're fishing together and you're standing in front of a deep fast run .... "Be afraid, be very afraid.'
