I'm stuck in my study writing a Master's thesis (will it never end?), our house just got robbed (but they left my Spey rods behind--hooray!!!!), and I need a lift. It seems like months (come to think of it, it has been months!) since I threw a line. Anyone finding any spring chromers?

Finally landed a nate last Friday on the Skykomish. Not one of my most memorable fish from a fight perpspective. It didn't run much just held in the current and shook its head but ended up being a nice strong, hard and bright fish. Formulaed out just under 10 lbs. Nice to get that first native of the millenium to the shore. I will try and post a pic of it.
Floating the Sky tomorrow and hoping for a repeat.

just finished five days; one on sky, two on sauk, two on upper stilli. hardest damn fishing i've ever done. there simply are no more fish!
of our group of three (including an awesome good rod, rich culver of flywater adventures in juneau) we touched a total of only 10 fish (stilli 7, sauk 2, sky 2), and landed only one (nice chromer buck on sky, rich on a swing, large black leechy thing on 3/0). for fishing so hard ten hours a day, this is pathetic. i touched 7 fish total, and only had one get close to hand before popping off.
Scottie O'Donnell said his clients have only landed four fish all spring on the sauk and skagit combined!
one: native steelhead fishery in northwest washington state is in deep doo-doo unless we all start writing nasty letters to fish and game to do something about it.
two: i'm bagging totally on partridge bartleet hooks (a grab: landed ratio of 0:7 has pushed me totally over the edge for winter fish, although the summer fish seem to impale themselves rather readily on the bartleets), and going over to the alec jackson speys»
