Could anyone tell me if the SA System 2 or the SA Mastery reels would make a decent spey reel?I have a 14ft 9/10 rod and was thinking of a 10/11 or a 12/13 reel.I have heard that the SA reels are inexpensive and very durable.I'm not looking for a fancy reel, just one that will last and take alot of abuse. Also it must hold 200 yards or more of backing for the Thompson, etc. My price limit for a reel is around $300 CAN.I've also looked at the Redington line and like them alot(I already own a AS9/10).Any other suggestions? Thanks.

For $100cdn you can pick up a Courtland Magnum. It's not great in the looks department, but it's a real workhorse. It has good line capacity and a hard working drag system. It's worth looking at if you are on a budget.
