Meiser Conversion rods

Hi Guys,
I am considering a purchase of a Meiser Steel master conversion rod and would like to hear you opinions on these.
I enjoy casting all line systems at different points in the year, long head dry line, Scandi, skagit and compact spey lines so I would be interested to hear what line combo is working for you on both the switch and the spey options.
I have never had a 5 piece rod before, what do of this as a set up.
I will be fishing the bulkley for summers and the lower skeena tribs for winter fish.
Thanks for our help
Cheers
Sam

The conversion rods come with SGS (Steve Godshall Special) lines correctly balanced for the rod(s).

I have one of these combos, and it's great - works well with the supplied lines/heads

Of course, you may use your own lines, but, as they say, if it ain't broke.....

Conversion rods

Although not for me where I'm at, I took a long, serious looks at these rods. I needed a lighter long rod though, and an 11 foot 9-10, so I bought two rods. I fish a lot of trout too, so I have lighter rods from Bob. Hum, it must be remembered when hearing this that my largest trout was 32" last year.

For the right place, the conversions are great!

Talk with Bob, share where you're going and what you want to do, and he will share openly. That's how I got the odd ball rods I have now.

Good luck

Conversions

Recently sent payment for two conversion rods one of the Troutmasters and the Steelmaster. Bob was really helpful and even talked me out of getting the Salmonmaster rod. Looking forward to testing them out in Hawaii and in Oregon in the near future. I have been thinking about those rods for a reallo long time. Probably will fish them as switch rods in the saltwater and in small rivers and spey in bigger rivers. Dean

I was and remain ecstatic with my Troutmaster buy:

http://speypages.com/speyclave/showthread.php?t=37263

In its 13 foot, 9 inch 6/7 weight version, I have lined it with both longer heads (Carron, Vector, Airflow MultiTip) and shorter ones (Extreme skagit + 15 ft sink tip) compared to the original Godshall scandi that was part of this Meiser conversion package. Dittos re the 11 foot switch version: e.g., lining it with a Rio Steelhead taper for no-strip two-hand casts and Wulff Ambush + poly for one-backcast overhead casts from a boat deck for reds.

Huge versatility. Every line/casting style combo was sweet, once I backed off on the casting speed/muscle and let the rod do what it does. Major love affair.
