Anglers Roost 12' 7/8

Anybody have one of these, or know somebody who does? I am looking for a smaller spey for the Minnesota/Wisconsin Great Lakes area and do not have a lot to spend. I thought this might be an affordable rod to get my feet wet with. I previously have been using a single hand rod with the greased line presentation, and a 10' type 6 tip when the water is high. Any input would be greatly appreciated, I am new to 2 handers and spey.

I built the 5/6 which is a 12 footer as well made a cool little skagit head for it. outta a old 11wt double taper trout line and I have to say very fun little rod. Not the top of the line but works well for swingin my sculpins no real complaints.
Hasn't broke yet either thats always nice. I'm pretty sure the blanks are from over seas. Like 90% of rods these days.

Anglers Roost 12 7/8

I bought this for a back-up and like it. I needed to slow my casting stroke down but once I got it dialed in it seemed to work good. I have not found a line I like with it yet and have been using a 570gr skagit compact and going to try a 425gr skagit short. Probably something in the middle of those 2 will work best I think.

Hope this helps,

7/8 spey

I built one of these for friend in the winter. It has a little bit of a heavy feel to it but is a great stick for the money. I think his whole rod built for around 110$. You can't beat that. After casting some lines i found a 510 skagit compact to be the right fit for my buddy and my casting style. I hope this helps a little bit. You will like this rod for great lakes fishing. It is more of a 8wt then anything.

I have this rod.
The line is a Scandi head at 12,5 m and around 29 grams.
I dont know much spey casting, but when the speygod is kind to shoots at 30+ m very easy.
Bought it for very tight spaces over here.
A frend of mine got the 13'.....this one I like more. Also he uses the same line.
Running line is amnesia 30 lb
