Bones/permit/tarpong destination help

Hey guys,

I have been surfing the net for flats fishing packages.
Trying to find something decent price wise. Wondering if some of you fellow speypagers would have any past experiences with certain outfitters down south.

Any info greatly appreceated
Cheers

If you're Canadian I would check out Cuba. Avalon is the big outfit down there.

Grand Slam

It appears you are on the east coast in Canada? Places that are easy for you to get to and for the species you are targeting I would highly recommend going to the Garden of the Queens in Cuba. Incredible fishing in a beautiful environment with the culture of Cuba to top it off. As stated above the Italian company Avalon is the outfitter to contact. Another option is Casa Blanca Lodge in Ascencion Bay Mexico. I always use Flywater Travel to book fishing trips. Here is a link to their Casa Blanca page: http://flywatertravel.com/destination/CasaBlancaLodge

Hard core bones DIY

1. Fly into Marsh Harbor, fly west to Moores Island and call Tom Heal, to set you up. Go shopping in Marsh harbor for beverage and booze etc. and bring it with you.
2. Fly to Freeport Gand Bahama, rent car and drive out of town east to McLeantown (sp) there are some very inexpensive beach shacks available with a couch on the porch and not much else but clean bedding, frige, and stove.
3. Contact Vince Tobia at 716-479-232 (seven) Oak orchard fly shop. Vince puts on great DIY trips to Long Island Bahamas and points south.

Cuba

I did a trip with Richard French of slipstream outfitters in Zapata. While the trip was very well coordinated the fishing was less than spectacular. That said, he has several other locations in Cuba which probably fish a grand slam better.

Richard's number is 416-537-423 (three) or 866-644-7703

Brilliance, this is the kind of information one would take months to accumulate. Much appreciated!
