As this is pretty much prime time a lot of beats may be fully let.
I would look on the fishpal website, Tyne link, & see what was available & at what cost; also have a read of the beat decriptions etc. They should have details of catches on a month by month basis together with rod numbers on each beat so you can break the figures down & work out where you can best target your efforts.
You may also want to make sure that the beat is a good fly fishing beat with streamy water rather than a slow flowing beat which produces a lot of fish to spinning methods rather than the fly.
If you only have 1 day then a beat with a gillie may be best to give you the best chance of fishing the water effectively as you will gain the knowledge & experience of someone who knows the water in all heights & conditions.
PS, if you can't find what you want on the Tyne then remember you are only about 1 to 1.5 hrs drive away from the Tweed - this will increase your options a little. T.
